Quintan Ana Wikswo presents The Hope of Floating Has Carried Us This Far
In conversation with Robert Repino
Reading with video projection and live musical accompaniment by bassist Arthur Kell
Brooklyn-based author, visual artist, photographer, and filmmaker Quintan Ana Wikswo is a former human rights activist whose experiences inform her adventurous transdisciplinary projects. Her new book The Hope of Floating Has Carried Us This Far is a collection of stories and photographs in which characters defy the limits of physics to escape the all too human pain of love and loss.
Wikswo talks about her work with fellow author Robert Repino, editor at Oxford University Press and author most recently of the novel Mort(e). The discussion will be accompanied by images from the book on our big screen, and preceded by Wikswo reading, accompanied by her video projections from the book with live upright bass by Brooklyn composer Arthur Kell. Join us for a unique multi-media event from one of Brooklyn’s most engaging artistic and literary voices.
