Ahoy Amsterdamers and those passing through – on March 7th Perdu and the gifted Joost Baars will present SONDERBAUTEN, my project about government and state-based use of rape and gender-based war crimes, focusing on the rape brothel at Dachau and other concentration camps. SONDERBAUTEN  just ended its 5-month solo exhibition at the Jüdisches Museum Berlin | Jewish Museum Berlin.

I’m appearing via live video projection, and Joost will be presenting, discussion and sharing the work live via projections and lectures…a combination of the poems, photographs, films, and performance documentation. I am very deeply honored to have the work shared and discussed in such company.

NOTE: I’ll be talking a bit about my ongoing and increasing frustration with rape brothels being referred to as sites of “forced prostitution,” in particular in the publicity and journalism surrounding the museum exhibitions of the project over the past year in Berlin and Munich. Located in Amsterdam, ‘Stichting Perdu‘ is a literary foundation interested in new developments within the field of prose and poetry, in avant-garde forms of literature of the 20st Century and in crossovers between literature and other art forms. We mainly focus on certain aspects of literature that remain under exposed within the mainstream literary scene.
