8/10/13: Solo Exhibition Opens at Berlin Jewish Museum

October 23, 2013

The opening of the “Alles hat seine Ziet: Rituale Gegen Das Vergessen” exhibition at the Jewish Museum Berlin has been a whirlwind of tremendously compelling conversations and many opportunities to share the work in various artist talks, lectures, receptions, and press events. The generosity and intimacy of intellectual, artistic, and emotional connections were incalculable.

I am particularly moved by the warm reception for the exhibition at the opening gala, which brought the opportunity to share a few words about gender-based war crimes and global violence against women and girls….as well as to thank the many, many artistic collaborators and project allies (easily one hundred and counting!) who have lived in the heart of the SONDERBAUTEN project for the past four years.

Here are a few snapshots from the past week…more to come. The last two images, I think, say more than I could about the nature of this past week, and the unexpected moments that took place.
